REDBUD MINI RANCH
WE ARE MOVING - We are not going far, just down the hill about 30 min. We are still located about 2
hours northeast of Sacramento in the lower Sierra Nevada foothills, surrounded by several lakes and
rivers. Our new place sits on 9 grassy acres scattered with several varieties of native Oaks and Pine trees
and has a sesoanal creek running through it. Just below the snow line & above the valley fog we have
bright, sunny days through the winter when it's not raining and somewhat mild temps in the summer
time when it's scorching hot down in the valley. Raising American Miniature horses, LGD's and AKC
Chihuahuas we have plenty of room for the horses and dogs to run around and play in the spacious new
turnouts and dog runs of our mini ranch. Contact us if you would like to set up an appointment to visit us
here at the ranch.

REDBUD MINI RANCH
AMERICAN MINIATURE HORSES   ~  AMHA AND AMHR REGISTRIES
I've always been a "big" dog/"big" horse
person.... somewhere along the line I was bitten
by the Chihuahua bug and finally was introduce
to a rescued, miniature horse named Onyx. At
the time I had my dream horse, a "biggie" horse
named "Faith" She was a beautiful smutty
buckskin, 15.3 hands tall and built like a tank.
I love to work in my gardens or
on the gold fish ponds, it's like 3-d
art that is constantly and forever
changing with the added
randomness of things gone wild. If
you want to hear more about us and
how I got started with miniature
horses, you can check out my blog
"random droppings"...   ... and it is
totally random, so be prepared for
the good, the bad and the ugly.
We really do have the best weather
here in the Sierra foothills at 1300'
above sea level. Bangor is located
south of Lake Orovile in the grassy
Oak savannas of northern California
Our Chihuahua pack started out
with a couple of boys and ended up
with more Chis than I want to
mention out loud. Being the first
two, Speedy(long coat) and Mooch
are leaders of the pack
. Mooch is
the boss
dog and Speedy is in
charge of enforcement of dog law.

We finally found 2 LGD's to help
protect our Chihuahua pack and
the miniature horses. Gunner and
Jazmin are both very smart and
love the Chis as much as they love
the miniature horses.
Gary is into the mechanical kind
of horse power, he has great
empathy for all animals and has
always been a dog lover. So he
puts up with all my animals and
is very supportive by building me
anything I need for the ranch.
He is a certified welder and can
do all kinds of welding repairs
that might be needed on your
ranch. He runs his own portable
welding business and offers
custom fabricating of miniature
horse trailer dividers, feeders,
stall dividers and round pens.
Gary's '55 Chevy was a truck he first
owned when he was just 18 years
old, then it was a two wheel drive
and he traded it to his brother for
a jeep and then was sold out of the
family, but eventually found it's way
back to Gary when he was in his
early 30's. Since then he has totally
rebuilt the truck from the ground up.
He boxed in the frame for extra
strength and put in a 540 cc motor
with a GM performance block. The
body was modified by attaching the
hood and fenders for a custom tilt
nose, the gas tank was remove and
a fuel cell was installed in the bed for
easy access. The 37" boggers have
seen allot of mud pits - watch some
of his more exciting runs
<---------------------HERE
I think I have 2 green
thumbs and a couple toes
are green too.
His hobby is mud
bogging his 1955
Chevy project
truck. Check out
it's progression

Our latest big custom build project - a 9' x 6' racing pigeon haul box for
Steve Sterchi of Sierra Ranch in Grass Valley, Ca. We designed it per Steve's
wishes and custom built it from the ground up. Below are some pix of the
progression, from raw metal to installation on the truck before paint job.
The best part
about this job
was that Kim
Sterchi had a colt
I really wanted
and so a trade
was made and
now I own a
very handsome
cremello stallion.
See "Tripp" on
my colts page.
